You can use Thinking Chair from around the age of two years until your toddler is seven or eight years old.
If mum asked toddler to do something and the toddler did not do it mum was to say:" you are asking mummy to take you to the thinking place. I don't want to take you but you are asking me to."
ask one more time to do the things, if she refuse, and that mum would count to three and , if the toddler did not do, mum would take her to the thinking place.
put the toddler in the thinking place, get down to the toddler level, make eye contact and say:" the reason I am putting you here is because you refused to ……" Each time the toddler run away, mum need to pick her back.
The toddler will cry, and when she stopped, at this point mum need to say:" the reason mummy put you on the … in the first place was you refused to …. If you refuse to do what mummy wants again you will have to go back to the …" and then, give your toddler a kiss and a cuddle and tell her she could get up and continue with the day.
Next time she refused to so something, mum just say:" I am going to count to three and then I and going to take you to the thinking place."
